The H-785 was Hondo's B.C. Rich Bich copy. It was introduced in mid-1983 as part of the Deluxe Series, but in 1984 became part of the new Formula 1 Series lineup and was produced until 1985. It was the first model to feature the Stinger headstock design, and was one of the first models to start receiving serial numbers, along with the H-935.
The H-785 was preceded by a Bich copy built for the Vega/Antares/Orion brands around 1982, known as the RC model.
