Hondo's Formula 1 Series was introduced in mid-1984 as a line of more contemporary copies, all featuring stock Grover tuners (with the exception of the H-7601, being a budget model). The first models introduced were the H-762 and H-785.
Note: The Grover Rotomatics used on early examples have larger button posts (4mm diameter from flat side to flat side) than modern Rotomatics. Therefore, modern replacement buttons will not fit them. The change occurred some time in 1984, although it is unknown how long it may have taken Hondo to use up all of the older style tuners.
All Formula 1 Series models were made in Incheon, Korea by Samick.
