The H-760 was introduced in 1980 as a re-named version of the HFS, Hondo's Fender Stratocaster copy and part of the Standard Series. At the same time, the Professional Series H-1100 was introduced as the high-end, Japanese-made Strat copy. The slotting below the H-760 was the H-7600, while above was the H-761. The Fame Mastercaster MC-003 was the top of the line Korean-made Strat copy. The H-760 would be effectively replaced by the H-7600 in 1988.
All H-760 models were made in Incheon, Korea by Samick.

H-760 (Deluxe Series)[]
In 1981, the H-760 became part of the new Deluxe Series, being updated with the Eagle Beak headstock design, and a vintage style 6-point tremolo. For 1982, the H-760 was updated with a color matched headstock with Sunrise logo and "Deluxe Series 760" text, as well as some new features and finishes. Earlier 1982 examples still used the old 2-ply, 8-9 screw pickguard with no tremolo cutout. In late 1982, the truss rod was changed to a heel-adjusted style. Around 1983, the body started getting deeper contours and more accurately rounded edges, a Rosewood "skunk stripe" was added, and the nut was changed to the proper Fender style. In late 1983, a wider neck plate with an engraved Sunrise logo was introduced.
